Last day at work

As expected I woke up pretty early and went to work. It really was a fade out day of handing over the last bits and pieces and packing up my things. These tasks were interrupted by a couple of coffee breaks and setting up my out-of-office. "Sorry, I will be out of the office until may next year!" It was quite different to set this one up.

It was another day of brilliant sunshine ( I think Ireland is trying to keep me here), so when I left the office after work, I took a picture of the ole' Irish Life building (which I thought I was not going to see for 7 months) and decided to stroll along the Liffey to Grand Canal Dock. This brought my brought my tracked walks over the last 2 years to 1000 km, which was one of the goals before heading off.

The whole day was different, because every time I talked to someone I know this was likely to be the last time for 7 months. In fairness, 7 months really isn't an eternity but it is different than just heading off for two weeks.

Nearly at home I saw plenty of German (and some Irish/Scottish) Colleagues sitting the the sun in Sheehan's Biergarten. I though I might just pop in for one. It was not one but it wasn't much much more... I promise. It was nice to say goodbye once more and exchange some plans and ideas.

The only impact of this was that I did not get around to test pack my bags on Friday. This would have to wait till the morning.
