I am now sitting here at the Airport in Duesseldorf while the first couple of people are already boarding my plane to Istanbul and am trying to catch up on the events of the last week. A lot did happen and I did not have the time or had other priorities than writing them down.
So here is an attempt to recapture some of the events. I want to start with my second last day at work.
My second last day at work for 7 months was relaxed and I handed over a couple of things to my colleagues, some of which unfortunately were over in the UK for a Power down.
This was already my second leaving pints event so I had nearly everyone covered.
As a location for the festivities I chose one of my favourite pubs in Dublin. Cassidys is different, as it is decorated with Everything 80s, comic and Punk related.
The music and the beer are great. This time we were not going to get to enjoy the music and the interior that much as the weather was just magnificent and we got lucky with catching a bigish table in front of the door, outside on Westmoreland Street with a nice view down O'Connell Street and the Spire, which was highlighted by the setting sun. What made this evening even better was of course the company of so many of my friends. Some of them I have not seen for ages, some of them just talked to me about IP addresses a few hours earlier.
Some of them just returned from their trip, passing by Dublin from the USA on the way back to Germany after a year of travelling. Others offered tips and everyone offered their best wishes. It was really nice to have seen you all there. A little into the evening Yuni also joined the fun. Apparently she will miss me slightly less than some of my colleagues :-).
It was a great night and really ensured that I will miss Dublin in the coming months once or twice!
