With a cup of tea sitting with the laptop on the couch I wrote for a while and sorted out some photos of the Sunday that I could use for the blog.
When finished it was still early (maybe 6am). So, I got ready and just left the house when the alarm rang.
My colleagues and I have just recently moved into the new Irish Life complex in town which has a gym and a swimming pool for staff to use. So, when I arrived on the Dart in town the sun just started creep up on the horizon and it looked promising to be another gloriously sunny day. To properly wake up, I decided to use the given facilities and went fora swim and did a full kilometre in about 30 min.
A good start into the week, let’s hope I can keep this pace for the rest of the week.
At about 8 I then walked into the office and the last week before my holidays began. One of the tasks of the day was to get an office ready for 40 people on short notice. We already had two switches ready to go but still needed a bunch of patch leads. As we still had some in Blackrock I seized the chance and went back to get them. Leaving the office, I checked the Dart schedule and saw the next one was in 26 minutes which was enough time to enjoy the weather a bit.
My stroll took me along the river Liffey across the Samuel Beckett bridge and through the nicely rebuild harbour area called Grand Canal Dock. It was a bit cold but the sun made more than up for that.
When I got to the Dart station it was just 2 minutes until the dart arrived for which I would have waited 26 minutes in the shade for if I had just gone to Tara Street station. Another good decision of the day!
There were plenty of bits and pieces to do back in the office in Blackrock but I finally go to collect all the cables which came to be two big boxes. I took a taxi back to town and joined my colleagues in setting up the new office.
After finishing this off there were only a few emails to be answered an then off home again.
I was extremely tired when settling on the couch and fell asleep. When Yuni came home she prepared a lovely dinner and I slowly recovered from my sleep on the couch.
One of the parents of a kid, from Yuni’s Crèche had brought back two pieces of Sachertorte from Vienna. This made up our desert.
