A sunny day to relax

We really liked this little town of Foxton Beach and even more so the Kowhai Court Apartments and could have easily have stayed another night but we had to move on to Wellington.

The chat with the lovely owner made the goodbye even worse but it was sort of forgotten when we drove back to the beach to inspect the whole scene during daylight.

To soak up a little more of this nice towns atmosphere we stopped at "The little white rabbit Cafe" for breakfast before setting out to the Capital.

I had a locally produced soft drink "Foxton Fizz" and my Parents coffee and cake.

On the drive we stopped at a beach but were not really in the mood to try the out the water, althoug my Mom did go and tried it out with her feet.

Another stop along the coastal road was a car museum, that we didn't really visit, rather just had a look through the large windows and enjoyed a cup of coffee and an ice cream in the attached cafe.
State Highway Number One brought us into the small Capital with it's 400,000 inhabitants where we quickly found the Motel.

It was only early afternoon, so that we had plenty of time to explore this cozy and relaxed city with it's many, any bars and especially cafes.

At the waterfront we chose one of the many craft brew pubs to have a late lunch or early dinner.
The tables outside were all busy and we had to join an American couple with whom we had chatted for a while.

We continued our walk along the waterfront with even more shops and cafes and found our way over Cuba street (sort of a Grafton Street in Wellington) back to the Motel.

We used the afternoon to relax and blog a bit and to do our laundry as it was nearly half time of our trip now and we had two nights in one place for a change.

Originally we planned to go out once more to explore some more pubs but after all the hiking and sightseeing of the last couple of days we were quite happy where we were (on our beds) and stayed in for the evening.
