Across from the hostel was a western coffee place and since I haven't had any good coffee for a while I decided we should have breakfast there.
It was quite expensive (nearly western prices) but the large cup of americano certainly gave me a good kick.
Our plan now was to check out the Royal Palace of the King of Cambodia, just down the street, but when we got there it turned out that it closes for lunch (of his majesty I assume) at 11am and reopens at 2pm.
So we just walked around town for a while, visited some temples and had great cup of Chinese noodle soup in some back alley where we relaxed in the shade of some trees for a while before heading back to the hostel.
Originally my plan was to go back to the Palace at around 2pm but it was quite cozy in the air conditioned hostel with my book and a cold coke that I delayed this activity till tomorrow.
I had too much (or not enough) time anyway, as I was to meet Basti in Saigon on the 22nd. So there was not enough time to go to another place but too much time to spend in Phnom Penh.
In the evening I met another Chilean guy and with reference from a fellow Indian traveller in the hostel went to an Indian Restaurant just down the road.
I finished my Clive Cussler book "Inca Gold" and used the book swap facility to get a new one.
Now I'm reading Heinrich Harrer's "Mein Leben". He was the author of (and person portrayed in) "Seven years in Tibet", so after visiting Nepal, this should give me some idea of what a real adventurer experienced in life.
