Unlike at home I am getting up a consistent times during my holidays. It was a meet at 6:30 at the pier again this morning. The sea was quite a bit more choppy with waves approximately a meter high. That doesn't sound very frightening but proved difficult when I tried to get back on board again.
Today the boat was going to bring us out to the Southwest Dive site and I buddied up with Rocio, one of the instructors.
She knew all the places to find special fish, like a juvenile sweetlips (which looked a little bit like Nemo) and a small, yellow boxfish (of which apparently there is only one around this riff).
We also swam through a couple of swarms of different fish (including mini barracudas). It was a really nice dive (once again).
Just as mentioned before getting out of the water was a bit of a challenge.
After this we took the boat a long way north into the sheltered bay of Koh Tao for our second dive. It was White Rock which I enjoyed even more as there were many, many corals and colourful fish. We saw three blue spotted stingrays hiding in different caves.
After these dives there was no time for rest as my friend AT (from Nepal) had arrived on the island and I went up to meet him in the town north of Mae Haad. Sairee beach is the main spot on the island for party and budget accommodation ( I only found out now) and was only half an hour walk.
We had a beer at the beach and waited for another couple of people to join and had a pretty good Pizza in one of the beach bars.
From there it was a couple of bars down the beach where we enjoyed a ourselves while watching a fireshow. It was a relative late night considering I had to feed my recent addiction of diving at 6:30 in the morning again.
