Good time with not much to see

In the morning Lulu and Karsten were told by the guy in neighbouring caravan that he spotted a Koala Bear and they went to see him, but unfortunately when they came back and told me about it the Koala was gone already. It is very rare to see a Koala bear in the wild and I would have loved to see it, now I have to only live with the knowledge that I heard them, but didn't see them.
The tent was still wet when we got up and it looked like it was going to rain more, so we packed up and hit the road.

We wanted to go further south along some of the back country roads towards the Queensland/New South Wales border.

Just when we set off the big rain started and it wouldn't stop for 2 days (which we didn't know at the time).

Our journey partly lead us along the Lions road to Kyogle. This is a great driving road through the McPherson Range, for some of the time we ran along, above or underneath an old railway line. At one point the railway track went in a circle around a mountain and over a bridge of its own track to gain 25 meters of altitude. This circle was called the Cougal Spiral but unfortunately the weather was so bad that we could barely see it from the outlook where we stopped.

Along the way we tried to stop at a B&B but they wanted to charge us 200 $ for a night in a room that was not dirty but nothing special either.

We decided to move on to Kyogle, a small village (but larger than the other we came through) we decided to stay at a motel (for 130$).

It was really nice to have nice beds a TV, an ensuit bathroom and a fridge.

After we got some shopping done for the next couple of days and the breakfast in the morning we picked up 3 Pizzas from a take away, brought them back to the Motel and watched some stupid film and ate the Pizza.

The weather report was not promising for the next couple of days.

After another film, some nachos and a few beers it was pure luxury to fall asleep on a very comfy bed.
