First thing after getting up and getting ready was to walk over to the nearby Tourist information. There was not much new information we could get there though.
So we went back and had a bit of breakfast and planned the day ahead. We did our shopping in the little supermarket. Lulu was more in the mood to rest whereas Karsten and I wanted to take drive around the area and the big lake.
Just a couple of minutes after we headed off it started to drizzle a bit and got heavier after a few kilometres but we didn't have to worry about Lulu sitting in the rain as there was the common area at the camp site which was covered.
We drove a round for a while following roads without knowing where they would lead us, trying to get lost a bit.
We drove around a smaller lake (Lake Atkinson) and through quite remote country site until we go back to Lake Wivenhoe.
Then we took the car up the curvy roads to Mount Glorious and stopped at a lookout where we heard some bell birds the first time. These birds sound like little bells. May not be as interesting to you but we were wondering what kind of birds make such a strange noise.
After we completed our trip around Lake Wivenhoe and got back to Esk Lulu prepared Some Pasta with bbq'ed chicken and a little later we even had some live country music going in the common area.
There we were sitting in a Caravan Park somewhere in the Hinterland of Southern Queensland, together with loads of retired people, listening to Cheesy country songs.
In fairness, most of the songs were ok but once in a while I really felt we should be playing Bingo very soon.
All in all it was a very enjoyable evening.
After all the other people went to bed... this must have been around 10 pm we stayed a bit on and then later tried to find some Koala bears in the trees behind our tent, as we heard that they were hiding in there.
We did hear a Koala Bear making his distinct grunting noise, but when we tired to spot him we could only hear him (not even see him) jumping across the river and the noise fading away.
No luck spotting the Koalas this time.
