I remembered a nice looking cafe on freak street and decided to go there to catch up on my blog from there. It was a bit of a walk through Thamel and although I by now know most of the streets around here it still felt like a little adventure sneaking through the crowds of people, rickshaws and motorbikes. I eventually made it to the cafe and got a small but really nice coffee and started writing. The internet was much better than in the hostel as well, so I could upload a few photos and prepare and publish some blog entries. I spent nearly 4 hours in the place when I decided I had to get some food.
For the afternoon we had planned another visit to the Monkey temple with the new arrivals in the hostel. This time we walked.
What made my second visit to this place different was the fact that there is another Hindu Festival on (the seem to have one every week) many houses are decorated with colourful lights. Today's festival is called "Diwali".
Our plan was to arrive on top of mountain where the temple is just in time for sunset and then see the lights across the city, but we struggled to get away and only arrived when it was dark already. It was still a nice sight to take in with all of the city lit up and fireworks going off above the houses.
