This was my last full day in Nepal and this was good. I really enjoyed the time here but after 6 to 7 days of "hanging" in Nepal it was now time to move on. My ticket to Bangkok was booked but I had no idea of what I was going to do there once I arrived. So it was a bit of trip planing by talking to people and reading up on the internet and travel guides (both people and travel guides were readily available in the hostel).
My choice soon was clear and after staying two nights in Bangkok I was going to go to the island of Koh Tao for some scuba diving and beach life.
I really started feeling like a traveller now, moving on from one place to another in the search of new adventures and surprises.
UPDATE:I forgot an interesting part of the day but Basti reminded me to tell you guys about it:Before dinner we wanted to do one more Unesco World Heritage site and went off with a bus from the hostel to a place called Pashupatinath a little east of the centre of Kathmandu. It's a sacred place where Hindus let their deceased relatives and loved ones pass into the afterlife (excuse me if I do not explain this 100% correctly here) by washing them in Bagmati River and then burning them on a stone podium. It is similar to Varanasi in India I guess. We visited the site at night and the atmosphere was quite surreal. It was not very busy but I think that added to the whole feeling. The many monkeys in the area did not care about this, though.
A last walk around town and some repacking and then we all headed out for my leaving dinner. I heard about this place called Friends from the Israeli guys that we met on the trek and wanted to check it out before leaving. So we all went over there and had a great burger. The atmosphere wasn't very unique but the food was great. I think everyone enjoyed it.
It was back to the hostel and some drink some beers. Who says backpackers don't have a organized/reoccurring day schedule? Towards the end of the evening from somewhere a bottle of Loas Whiskey appeared that contained a Snake ... see for yourself in the pictures. Jesse, who had it from a guy, who had it from another guy, said it wasn't good for you so no one drank any.
