Lazy Pokhara

After all this excitement there was nothing on the schedule for today. One thing only: CHILL!

We went down to the lake front to find some breakfast. I had an Orange juice, which wasn't very good but therefore pricey (well... 1 €) - I didn't care. We went on and found a little sandwich place that was pretty busy. Good sign I guess so we went in and had sandwich. Mattias checked his email and facebook things in a Internet Cafe and had a message from our friend we know from the Hostel in Kathmandu, Isabel. She was also here in Pokhara, so we went over to visit her at the Freedom Cafe.

The Freedom Cafe was all the way up at the north end of Lakeside and was a great place to do what we planned for this day... Eat, drink, relax. It consisted of a few little bamboo huts with loads of blankets and pillows, right on the lake and had good food and cold beer.

We just sat there for 4 hours when it was time to get back to business.

Mattias had to book his bus to get back to Kathmandu and I wanted to book my next adventure.
Pokhara is famous (and self declared capitol) for Paragliding. Apparently the surrounding mountains protect it from wind and the valley heats up, so that you can use the rising air to gain altitude.

I never did Paragliding, so I was quite excited about the idea and booked my ticket for the next day at 1pm.

The prices are all the same across the town 85 USD for about half an hour of gliding. Not very cheap I guess but, it had to be done.

I also met up with Deepak from the Children's home in Pokhara, for whom I got in contact through the Kaarster Nepal Initiative in Germany. I was thinking of possibly volunteering a bit but as the festival season was on many of the kids went to relatives and it was not very busy in the house.

Still, we agreed to meet up properly and have a look at the house for tomorrow after I come back from Paragliding.

After that we went back to a brand new attraction of Pokhara. It is an outdoor cinema that a couple of Australian lads just opened earlier this week. There were different movies on every night and it was set on the slope of the mountain looking down on the lake. Tonight's feature was going to be "Django Unchained".

Well worth watching a second time it was good entertainment for the evening.
