From Nawal to Manang it was a fairly easy walk slightly downhill back into the valley passing through the town of Braka. As we were not in a rush today and already half way to Manang we wanted to check out the local Buddhist Monestary which is netled up in the hills above Braka.
Once we were up there at it's doors we were quite disappointed to see that opening times were from 08:00 to 11:00 and 14:00 to 17:00. Of course it was 11:06. But lucky as we are a monk came along and asked if we wanted to see the inside.
He let us in and we had a look around the 900 year old monastery.
Mikael and I had lunch after this while Mattias walked on to Manang.
Manang is a major tourist hub along the Annapurna circuit, with loads of shops and internet cafes but non of these were very inviting. It felt like the people employed here do not really care about hosting their guests. It was pretty personal and very different from what we experienced along the way so far.
In Manang everyone stops before either heading over to the Lake Tilicho or up the to the Thorung La Pass, so even with all the hotels and guest houses it was hard to find 3 beds. But we just about managed and the place we ended up in was actually quite nice in the end.
After waiting for more than an hour for someone who could give me Wifi Access (which really didn't help to improve my view of the friendliness of Manang) I reverted back to using email and checked back with Yuni and my Parents to see how things are.
