Catching up

I started the morning with a cup of instant coffee and the attempt of writing on my blog on the rooftop of the Alobar Hostel. But again it was impossibe to stay out of a conversation, don't get me wrong this is certainly a positive aspect of the hostel but in order to write about my trek I would have to go and hide somewhere.

But for now I tried to stay put and write a bit until I felt the urge to get out of the hostel to get some lunch. I found a little Doener Place with a guy that worked in Switzerland for a while and since the Doener was a bit on the small side I followed it up with a bowl of Garlic-Cheese Momo Chilli at the Momo Hut.

Sharon, the Dutch girl from yesterday was in Nepal to do her thesis from University on Air pollution in Nepal, so I filled out a survey for her. Later on a group of us all went to the infamous local food joint called "Western Tandoori and Naan". Many people were talking about it, so it was time to check it out ourselves and it was very nice. I stuffed myself with a double portion of Chicken Masala and Naan.

On the way back from there we walked by a house and heard some guitar riffs and drums. My ears stiffened and a boy on the bike saw this and brought us up the the little room where the band was practicing. We had to pass through a dark back yard and up some stairs.

The room was pretty small for all the audio equipment that was in it. The band was pretty good but they had just started practicing a week ago or so and had not even come up with name for the band. Although one guy was determined it should be called "Love".

It was pretty cool to hang with the band, maybe they become the first big export... pity we won't know who to look unless they pick up the guy's idea and name the band "Love".

We spent the rest of the evening chatting away in the hostels. One of the guys we met on the trek also showed up at the hostel. He was a day in ahead of us on the trek and did get stuck at the Throng La High Camp in the snow and had to be helicoptered out of there. He is all fine again now.
